Why Manure-Based Substrate Beats Grain

Most all-in-one grow bags are built on grain. The ShitMaster 1000 is built on a rich manure-based substrate blend — the same nutrient-dense environment dung-loving species evolved to thrive in. The result is faster colonization, denser mycelium, and more flushes per bag compared to grain-only systems.

Biological efficiency on manure-based substrate runs 100–200% — meaning up to 10 lbs of mushrooms from a 5 lb bag. Grain-only systems average half that.

How to Grow

1. Sanitize the injection port with alcohol wipe
2. Inject 4–5cc of your liquid culture or spore syringe
3. Colonize at room temperature 65–79°F
4. Optional single mix at approximately 50% colonization
5. Fruit directly in the bag or transfer to a monotub for a larger canopy

Sterilization and Safety

Every ShitMaster 1000 bag is pressure-sterilized at 15 PSI for 2.5 hours before it ships. All pathogens and competitor organisms are eliminated. The bag is shelf-stable and ready to inoculate on arrival. Contamination rates on properly sterilized manure bags run 5–10% — lower than most grain-only systems.
